That Uranus-Eris Thing ~ 18 Sept 2015

The first order of business: Happy Saturn in Sagittarius.

The second order of business, check out this photograph. That’s not a window seat picture of my last flight over the Himalayas; that’s a newly released New Horizons Space Probe shot of Pluto pretty much at closet point of approach, while looking back into the Sun.

Now, third, much to the chagrin of the title planets in Aries, here’s a look at that Uranus-Eris thing. Presently, these two planets stand slightly less than four degrees apart, both presently retrograde. Pretty much until early 2018, these two will habitually congregate in reasonable zodiacal proximity... odd planetary birds flocking together. This is interesting for several reasons:

Uranus, noted for his cranky and cantankerous ways, prefers being left alone and resents unexpected visitors, changes in plans, disruptive individuals and social network obligations (Thanks for tracking me! What’s new in your life? How’s it going? What’s UR fav soup?). When crowded, his less than admirable personality traits appear, justifiably in the interest of resetting his comfort zone.

Eris, noted for her sensitivity to being left out, rejected, unfriended, excluded, shunned, overlooked (whether intentionally or not), reacts strongly to this hot button issue. She’s clever and tends to plot revenge and mayhem to make sure those dismissing her realize the error of their ways.

Uranus and Eris are virtually conjunct in Aries, noted for self-referentialism, self importance, a sense of personal entitlement, a lust for preferential treatment and first in line status.

It’s no wonder that stores, airlines and credit cards devised “insider” programs to make a person feel extra important with all those special perks.

To the psyche, the current Uranus-Eris alignment tends to provoke feelings of being an outsider looking in. If your knee-jerk reaction is to say that the Hyacinth Club (whatever they’re about) did not approve your application is not a club you really want to join anyway, Uranus and Eris are having a bit of their way with you. Since the instant reaction patterns of Uranus and Eris leave much to be desired in terms of decorum and establishing gains for all parties, consider some solution doctrines.

The orbital elements - perihelion (closet point in orbit to the Sun) and the north node - shape the consciousness of a planet by declaring its sense of priorities and urgencies (perihelion) and the grander mission statement (node).

For Uranus, the node is in Gemini, the perihelion is Virgo, both signs ruled by Mercury. So for Uranus, if a life situation or circumstance leaves you thinking, second guessing, percolating over outcomes, or out and out stewing over a matter, then an adjustment to find your perfect fit is in order. A perfect fit would be a position in life - whether included or excluded - that resonates with personal and spiritual objectives and requires no life justification - a rationalization free zone.

For Eris, the node is in Taurus, the perihelion is in Libra, both signs ruled by Venus, So for Uranus, it’s about social and economic conformity, or status. Addictions to work for the sake of success and compulsiveness in relationship for the sake of feeling accepted, indicate an imbalance. The perfect fit for Eris would be a Goldilocks Zone. The perfect amount of resource such that the material factors of life function without fretful attention; the perfect amount of love, appreciation and attention such that no crowding in line or scrambling for attention and affection ever need take place.

What if a person feels like an outsider? What if a person feels not fully engaged in life, or aligned with others whose pursuits and plans offer appeal?

Across the sky from Uranus and Eris, nearly opposite the midpoint of the two, stands the newcomer dwarf planet Haumea. This goddess possesses unfailing capacity to feed the people, to unleash the flow of life (lava) and to execute unlimited creativity. Haumea simply states: find your thing, do your thing and do your thing well, confidently show the results, and let the fit be found and the following to arrive. Imitate no one. Become your own model of personal and skillful creative excellence. This opposition is like having a personal life coach in the sky... for free!

Should you be feeling the Uranus-Eris thing, sit back a spell and daydream. Creatively imagine what you could do if you unleashed your skills, talents and inner drive for purpose. Then, plot that course, acting as if Jupiter is in Virgo... and oh, by the way, Jupiter and Eris maintained a highly collaborative relationship. As your creative course becomes clear in impeccable detail, get ready and execute. After all, we have an all scrubbed up, fresh Saturn sign to engage.

So to that Uranus-Eris thing... take that. While you’re at it, take a moment to gander at the topography of the magnificently beautiful Pluto in the included pic. Eris might have helped demote Pluto, but his unique beauty and majesty remain spectacular and undeniable!
